Bob Herne, MSW

Director of Fund Development

Before joining Hope Cooperative as a staff member, Bob served on Hope’s Board of Directors for four years. Prior to joining Hope’s team, Bob was the National Project Director of AdoptUSKids, and served as CEO of Sierra Forever Families in Sacramento, CA and has over 35 years of experience in the field of human services. Bob holds a B.A. degree from Concordia University in Montreal and a Masters of Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C. as well as a Certificate in Leadership from the University of Southern California. Mr. Herne is known nationally for his work in the youth permanency movement.

Mr. Herne has taught at the Catholic University of America and has presented at local and national conferences including the NASW, NACAC and TASH. In 2013, the North American Council on Adoptable Children selected Bob as the recipient of their Adoption Activist Award. Locally he has received the Think Out of the Box Award from Capital Adoptive Families Alliance and the Heroes Award from the Sacramento Heart Gallery.

Bob is honored to be working with Hope Cooperative who are leaders in meeting the needs of people with mental health challenges in our local community.
