Matthew Decker

Senior Corporate Counsel, The Raley's Companies

Matthew is an experienced transactional attorney who currently serves as Senior Corporate Counsel for The Raley’s Companies, focusing his practice on contract negotiation, commercial real estate, regulatory compliance, and employment law matters. Before joining The Raley’s Companies, Matthew practiced corporate, real estate, and renewable energy law at the Downey Brand, Weintraub Tobin, and Stoel Rives law firms here in Sacramento. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Boston University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Pepperdine University.

Matthew previously served as President of the Board for River City Food Bank, a local non-profit focused on alleviating hunger and providing consistent access to healthy, nutritious food to those in need in Sacramento County. Since moving to Sacramento in 2008, Matthew has lived primarily in Downtown and Midtown and has seen firsthand the growth in the homeless crisis in Sacramento’s core neighborhoods. He is passionate about the future of Sacramento and is excited to assist the Hope Cooperative in addressing the homelessness, mental health, and substance abuse challenges facing the Sacramento County and Yolo County communities. In his free time, Matthew enjoys playing basketball, adventure travel, cycling on the American River Bike Trail, and cheering on the Sacramento Kings.
